Our studio has long been recognized for our extensive sacred experience represented by hundreds of sacred facilities throughout Southern California and the Southwestern United States. We know and understand that not only the expert planning of each building is critical, but the relationships of the multiple buildings on a campus to each other are also critical. A well thought out floor plan, site plan, and circulation plan will lead to the success of the individual buildings, the overall campus, and future successful social ministries for the church. We view our building and site designs as ministry tools. Upon completion, we leave behind a campus that by creative design will enhance, enrich and grow your ministries.
Master Planning is an important step in any multiple phased campus design. Churches and schools almost always have multiple buildings on their campuses. These projects vary from new campuses on vacant rural land to dense in-fill projects in urban areas. Almost always, phasing of construction is a basic tenet of the design parameters. Philosophically, we generally attempt to create a central core/gathering space, free of automobiles, and safe for the entire family. This central core provides a place for the “non-programmed” mingling and happenstance events that help create friendships and a sense of community. This philosophy requires the creation of a cohesive and safe campus with visitor friendly (clear) circulation. We typically approach each project also with a long term perspective, attempting to realize the church goals over time through phased implementation, while working under programmatic, budget and schedule criteria.
