City Council OK’s Solana Beach Presbyterian Plans
The Solana Beach City Council voted 4-0 recently to grant conditional use permits for domusstudio architecture-designed plans for an updated preschool and other improvements at Solana Beach Presbyterian Church.
Expected to start in the fall, renovations will increase the preschool capacity by as many as 40 children. The remodel also includes a new, expanded outdoor play area, according to church master-planners domusstudio.
“It looks like a win-win situation for the city and the church if you approve this permit,” said former Solana Beach Mayor Margaret Schlesinger, as quoted in the Del Mar Times. The council’s vote came after more than two hours of public hearing, during which numerous church officials and members spoke. No one spoke in opposition to the project, according to the Del Mar Times story.
The new preschool could be completed as early as next year. Read more about the church master plan and preschool design here.
